About The Zone

We are delighted to be able to offer an After School Club at the Zone, which offers excellent food, facilities & staff. We pride ourselves on our wonderful activities that focus on learning through play. The Zone is an OFSTED registered out of school club and is part of the extended school provision at Whitehill Community Academy.

The children look forward to coming where we provide a varied programme of activities, including a wide range of arts and crafts, sports and physical activities. There are computers, a football table and a pool table, as well as a cosy quiet area with TV and DVD’s and much much more.

We operate from three settings, the Foundation Stage children are based in Nursery, the under eights are based in the children’s centre and the over eights at the new Zone building. This means activities and resources are age appropriate. Activities change weekly and coincide with events taking place throughout the year.

Each of the settings has fantastic outdoor play provision, which is used whenever possible. The children are collected from school by our staff and brought to the Zone where they have the opportunity to choose the activities they would like to access.

The qualified staff at the Zone work to provide quality after school and holiday care to the highest standard.

Our good relationships with other schools and outside agencies, enable us to work together and help our club extend and grow.

The staff at The Zone is a dedicated team of enthusiastic and caring playworkers with specific training in childcare. The team have worked together for a considerable period of time.

All staff are DBS checked and approved. Staff training is an ongoing process, First Aid, Health and safety, Food Hygiene, child protection and behaviour management are continually updated.
